I actually had the top for this quilt done March before I did Lorali's quilt BUT, then I waited a couple weeks to find the perfect fabric for the backing (it was back-ordered everywhere) and then it took the 4-5 weeks to have the top quilted/shipped and then... you'd think I'd be anxious to have the thing done but I didn't have the fabric binding I wanted and so it sat on my shelf..... for months. It's been super cold here lately and after the snow storm last week Ethan started begging for it so I had to force myself to pull it out and get busy on the binding.
Ethan immediately grabbed it and hasn't let it go since so I'm glad he loves it just as much as I knew he would. It's just a simple 1600 design in a throw size but I didn't have a jelly roll in the Grey's so I made my own with fat quarters and a bunch of favorite fabrics. For the Applique Husbandface found me a few silhouettes online that I was able to resize for a pattern. I haven't ever done Trapunto but decided to try it with something super simple that I wasn't emotionally attached to... and it worked! I will be using this in other quilts in the future FOR SURE. I love the effect.
Being 'snowed in' last week meant I got a lot of quilting done but February is extremely busy and booked so I doubt I'll get the same amount of mommy free time to finish up another 'bear quilt' for Owen and Cameron's room update that I've been working on then I hope to do a Ballet/Dance themed quilt/project.... only time (or lack there-of) will tell. :)
What are you working on?
