It's looking like there might actually be a solution to our troubles. At least this leg of the drama. We're at a hotel in Waterton tonight and Doug is on his way back from Great Falls (three hours away) with a rental car!! Tomorrow morning we will head down to Salt Lake in time to get Doug to the airport Sunday evening. Mom and Dad drove out this morning and were able to give him a ride there. Our insurance company has completely left us high and dry. We don't even have an answer if our car has been totalled out but, at this point my family just has to get on with our lives. Today has been emotionally healing for me though. I haven't talked to any insurance companies. I have spent the entire day with my kids. Playing in the park, feeding the chipmunks at Cameron Falls (I have some great picts. I'll post as soon as I have my own laptop back) and enjoying some great time with my Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Doug. As stressful as this week has been on me, I'm still going to miss Waterton. I love the townsite, the mountains, the animals, the people, the food... everything. Tonight I'm off to enjoy one last night with my kids in the most beautiful place on earth. Have a good weekend.

nightmare update '09

here's the latest update. Doug will be flying back into Atlanta on a red-eye flight Monday morning and will be going straight to work. I am going to try to rent a car in Great Falls and then drive to Salt Lake where I'll probably spend a few days searching for a new van to then drive back home to Georiga. The soonest the kids and I would be able to get there will be the 15th (and that is only if things go exactly according to plans from here on out, which with our luck lately won't be happening.) It's been rainy here and I've spent all of this week on the phone to insurance companies, who aren't willing to help in anyway. We've enjoyed our trip this summer but this sure is a terrible way to end it all. Doug's kinda gone into a depression about it all, (I think today he said about a dozen words to us) and we're both still having nightmares about it. The group of motorcyclists involoved in the accident really were wonderful though. The gentleman that passed away was driving first, with three other young men behind him. The others immediately handled the situation, stopping oncoming traffic, sending someone else for help, praying and giving blessings. Thier strength was so admirable and comforting even though I know it was the hardest thing in the world for them. They lost thier brother and friend and through such a hard trial they were able to comfort and call on The Spirit to guide us all. That part has been my biggest comfort. The blessing they gave me and then The Spirit they were able to bring to such a terrible site. I've been praying for their families all week and can't get them out of my mind. I hope those Men are still guiding the family with the same Spirit and Love. I never want to be involoved in something so horrific again. (and there is no way in Hell any of my kids will ever ride motorcycles... EVER.) I'll update again when I can. Sunday Shock

A quick update. We were in a serious accident yesterday while we were driving Chief Highway in Waterton. Doug, Lorali and I were in the van and all of us are physically safe. The other motorist died instantly. He was 29, and had a wife and two kids. We're all in shock around here. We're stranded in the townsite for an undisclosed amount of time. I don't know when I'll be coming home. I'm not even sure how we will be getting home because the van is undrivable. I'm at the family cabin now, although I might be at a local hotel come Friday. I'll update as soon as I can but for now know that we are safe and please fast and pray for the other family involoved. (they are members in Saskatewan- I'll write more about it when I can).

Ready, Freddy?

Wow, We leave in less then 48 hours and I'm really starting to wonder if I'll really ever be prepared for a two month multi-country road trip with three little kids. The car is clean, the passports are in, the plane tickets are bought (for Doug and Sarah), the laundry is *almost* done, the bags are *mostly* packed, the Doctor's appointments are done today, the itinerary is set and the kids are jumping out of their skins with excitement. I am getting the car serviced today, getting Ethan glasses tomorrow and then one last visit to Margaret before we head out for the summer. I can't believe how much preperation goes into a trip like this but I'm sure in the end it will be worth all the hassle. We are ALMOST ready.
